Paradise Beach 🌊

Paradise beach - a sandy summer heaven

If you're staying with us at Annousa and looking to explore a popular beach on Thassos, Paradise Beach (around a 45-minute drive from the Annousa's House and Studios, near the village Kinira) is a great option - especially outside the peak of summer.

The beach is known for its soft, golden sand and shallow, clear waters. In early summer (June) or late season (September), it offers a peaceful setting and easy swimming for families. There are both organized spots and quieter areas if you prefer your own setup.

That said, in August, both the beach and the narrow parking area can get very crowded—so we recommend arriving early or considering alternative beaches on those days.

One thing to note: during the “meltemia” period (the seasonal northern winds that occasionally sweep the Aegean), Paradise Beach transforms. Waves can reach up to 1–2 meters—great for experienced swimmers and body surfing, but something to keep in mind if you're visiting with small kids or prefer calmer waters.

Access is via a short dirt road from the main coastal road, and while it's manageable, take it slow - especially if you're not used to rural Greek roads.

Our tip: If you’re curious to see why it’s so popular, aim for a weekday morning in June or September. Bring water shoes (some patches have stones), your favorite read, and enjoy the views across to Kinira Island.

📍 View Route on Google Maps

Driving Time: ~45-55 minutes

Distance: ~48 km

🚗 Directions:

  1. Start from Kallirahi and drive east toward Skala Sotiros.

  2. Merge onto the main coastal road (EO Thasou Limenas) heading south toward Limenas.

  3. Continue along the coast, passing through Panagia and Potamia, and then head northeast toward Kinira.

  4. Just past Kinira, look for signs to Paradise Beach (Παράδεισος).

  5. Turn left onto the dirt road leading to the beach. Drive slowly - it can get bumpy.

  6. Parking is available near the beach, but it may fill up by midday during high season.

🏖️ Local Tips:

  • Best time to visit: June, July or September for fewer crowds.

  • Waves alert: During meltemia (usually July–August), expect higher waves - great for body surfing, but less ideal for young kids.

  • Bring: Water, sun protection, and optional water shoes (there are a few rocky patches).

Let us know at breakfast if you're thinking of heading that way - we’re happy to give real-time tips based on the day’s weather and wind!
